The Anchor 💗⚓️💗- Edition 38

Dear Friends and Family,

Wow, it has been a long time since I have written!  I have been very busy living and loving life.  Things have definitely not gone back to the way they used to be, but I am adjusting to the “new normal”.  My last cancer treatment, radiation, was a little over a year ago.  I remember that day vividly, celebrating with my friends and family in the lobby of the hospital and RINGING THE BELL!  

I recently met with my oncologist and radiation oncologist and they said that my scans are clear!  I was so nervous leading up to those appointments because you always have the fear that the cancer will return or metastasize.  I was more than relieved when I found out the results on the same day and did not have to wait.

My “new normal” consists of endocrine therapy.  I go to the hospital once a month on Saturdays for a Zoladex shot and take Arimidex daily.  (I no longer take Tamoxifen.)  The medications work together and help stop breast cancer from reoccurring.  I will take each medication together for five years.

Osteoporosis is one of the many side effects that may occur after chemotherapy.  I was diagnosed with osteopenia at one of my recent appointments.  I will receive a shot every six months to  prevent the osteopenia from becoming osteoporosis.   

In the month of November TW and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary!  I cannot believe that we were married 5 years ago.  When I look back on our marriage, I think, “Wow, we have been through a lot!”  It will make the upcoming years a piece of cake – ha, ha!

Also, during the month of November, TW and I were busy preparing for an event for Inspiration Ranch.  We sold our handmade wine charms and key chains.  Our website is in not current, I have been busy making other wine charm collections.  I sold a lot of the Jingle Bell Collection wine charms at the event for Inspiration Ranch.  It was a fun evening for a great cause!
