This is the second email that I wrote to friends and family.

Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you for your email responses and kind words! It really means a lot to me that you all are so supportive are serving as My Anchor!
I wanted to give a quick update…. MDA re-did all of my mammograms and ultrasounds during my first appointment on Wednesday, February 15th. They were concerned with an auxiliary lymph node in my armpit. They did a needle biopsy and I received the results today. From what I understand, the nurse said that the lymph node could be a false positive. If I truly have Stage 0, DCIS, than the lymph node should not be effected. The nurse said that this is a rare case and that the surgical oncologist has only seen two other similar cases like this. The mammograms and ultrasounds that were performed last week did not find a tumor present, so there is a possibility that the tumor may be very small and would not be found until surgery is performed. The surgical oncologist will remove a few lymph nodes and they will be examined more closely after the surgery to see if cancer cells are present. If there are cancer cells in the lymph nodes, then I do not have Stage 0, I would have what is considered invasive cancer, not sure of the stage though. So with that being said, it is now just time waiting to see what is discovered during surgery. I am HOPEFUL that it is stage 0 and the surgical oncologist does not find anything else….. My next appointment is Wednesday, March 1st.
Anchored in HOPE,
