The Anchor πŸ’—βš“οΈπŸ’—- Edition 38

Dear Friends and Family,

Wow, it has been a long time since I have written!Β  I have been very busy living and loving life.Β  Things have definitely not gone back to the way they used to be, but I am adjusting to the “new normal”.Β  My last cancer treatment, radiation, was a little over a year ago.Β  I remember that day vividly, celebrating with my friends and family in the lobby of the hospital and RINGING THE BELL! Β

I recently met with my oncologist and radiation oncologist and they said that my scans are clear!Β  I was so nervous leading up to those appointments because you always have the fear that the cancer will return or metastasize.Β  I was more than relieved when I found out the results on the same day and did not have to wait.

My “new normal” consists of endocrine therapy.Β  I go to the hospital once a month on Saturdays for a Zoladex shot and take Arimidex daily.Β  (I no longer take Tamoxifen.)Β  The medications work together and help stop breast cancer from reoccurring.Β  I will take each medication together for five years.

Osteoporosis is one of the many side effects that may occur after chemotherapy.Β  I was diagnosed with osteopenia at one of my recent appointments.Β  I will receive a shot every six months toΒ  prevent the osteopenia from becoming osteoporosis. Β Β

In the month of November TW and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary!Β  I cannot believe that we were married 5 years ago.Β  When I look back on our marriage, I think, “Wow, we have been through a lot!”Β  It will make the upcoming years a piece of cake – ha, ha!

Also, during the month of November, TW and I were busy preparing for an event for Inspiration Ranch.Β  We sold our handmade wine charms and key chains.Β  Our website is in not current, I have been busy making other wine charm collections.Β  I sold a lot of the Jingle Bell Collection wine charms at the event for Inspiration Ranch.Β  It was a fun evening for a great cause!

I hope that everyone has a Merry Holiday Season!

Anchored in HOPE,

JW

  3. Yay! Such fantastic news for you and Tom. What a wonderful Christmas gift…you deserve it! Your lives are forever changed, but you have graciously, and eloquently realized and recounted the positive parts of these difficult circumstances which many folks are unable to do. You are an inspiration to everyone! We love you! Aunt Diana and Uncle Jim (Baltimore)
